Usually I’m not a big fan of abstract/non-representational art. I need people, houses, animals. I admire drawing so much that – I admit it – I don’t take art, that doesn’t incorporate at least some drawing skills, very seriously.
BUT …
When I discovered Lari Washburn, I was quite enchanted. This is mostly due to the colours she uses
She uses circles and ovals a lot, which I like to do whenever I feel at a lost or want to calm myself down:
I would put all of these pictures on my wall and I’d like to eat from these plates:
Simple, a bit quirky, but so beautiful!
You can find Lari Washburn on Pinterest, Flickr, Etsy and this is her blog!

I tend to share your view, but I am also drawn to this artist. I really like the pottery example. There is a rhythm here that is very interesting.
Hi there! Thanks so much for this very kind blog post about my art. I also wanted to point out that the work that is the fourth one down is not my work. I think I did a post on my blog of this one. I believe it is a scientific drawing from an old book. Your drawings are wonderful by the way!
Thank you for appreciating it and also for the compliment on my drawings!:)
I’ll take out the fourth one – I think I found it on Pinterest AND the Internet/your blog (I don’t really remember) and it kind of “fitted” the rest of your art, so I put it in:)
